what is redvixa?

Onstage as REDVIXA, Juno and Coulter shed their identities as musician and performance artist in favor of being soundperformancers. They are most interested in exploring the space that encompasses sound performance--where the mediums are inseparable--rather than where sound and performance simply overlap or interact. Additionally, they work together onstage not as two collaborators with different complementary skills but rather as two instruments of a pair sounding simultaneously. This concept is based on the percussion term “a2” or “a due” which denotes the difference between one cymbal playing alone versus two cymbals played together as a pair. Soundperformance as revealed by REDVIXA manifests for the audience as a complex multi-sensory experience of seeing, hearing, feeling, and becoming sound.
